Closed-Loop Water Systems

Why not traditional treatment plants?

Traditional systems treat water once, then dump it. Ours treats and reuses water up to 98%, supporting both garment recycling and urban farming.

Trade-Offs

Financial Cost vs. Long-Term Benefit

Installing advanced filters, ultrafiltration units, and ozone treatment systems requires investment. But over time, cities save millions in water treatment, reduce dependence on freshwater sources, and cut chemical costs. The EU ANHIDRA project saved up to 123,400 m³/year in a single facility.

Space Constraints

Requires underground piping, filtration rooms, and tanks. To optimize, I use modular units embedded under streets and beneath apartment complexes, minimizing surface impact.

Maintenance & Operation

Needs trained staff and regular cleaning. However, modern sensors and automation reduce human error. Maintenance apps alert staff to issues in real time, minimizing downtime.

People may resist reused water for irrigation or non-drinking use. Public info campaigns, transparency dashboards, and signage (“This garden uses 98% recycled water!”) promote understanding and pride.
